The Fallen Entry
I wrote the Fallen entry not long ago. You can read it here.
My Fallen entry has rocketed up, viewing 280 times, and still counting today! I was in awe. I did not realize it is so popular. The Fallen was shown on ABCfamily Channel last night. If you miss it, it is your chance to watch it on August 6th at 10 pm.
Last night, I have watched Fallen twice. It reruns from 8 to 10 then 10 to 12. I was remembering a few things from the book in the movie. But not a few things that I recalled from the book are not in the movie. I believed those are significances that should not left out in the movie. I was a bit disappointed in the movie. I feel that those signficances represents the whole thing. For example, in the book, in the end, Verchiel, the Powers leader, had taken his adopted autistic brother with him. Aaron was determined to find his brother. But in the movie, Stevie is safe, but Verchiel is dead. Now what is the purpose for him to be determined to do something? See, Aaron did not want to be part of it since he was becoming a Nephilim, but he is about accepting it and still learning. Also, in the book, his adopted parents died in the fire, believed to be caused by lightning (but it was Angels fighting, throwing fire balls). Well, in the movie, they were much alive, but their house was partly burned down. Lastly, in the book, the girl named Vilma who liked Aaron; both did bumped into each other and bid a vague farewell. Vilma asked him if he would come back. He said, “No, I doubt it.” He left school. And he left with Gabriel, the dog, and Carmael, the former Powers leader, and helped saving Aaron from the Powers in the car. In the movie, Aaron said goodbye to his adopted brother, Stevie while he and his mother was stuck in the basement and told him to tell Dad and Mom he love them. He gave the ring to him to remember him by. He promised him that he would come back. Then he escaped with Carmael into the woods. Aron’s adopted father saw the fire on the house and he rushed into the house and took them out of the basement. They stood outside in the ponder what happened to Aaron. Stevie did not say anything but hold the silver ring. For the whole time, he couldn’t spoke. He had autism, but he did able to speak for a short time. Vilma was waiting for Aaron…he was late. He was busy fighting with the Powers leaders. She did see the lightning but did not know what. See, a few things are different. Oh, it reminds me… Verchiel, in the book, is a man. However, in the movie, that person is a woman. That is why I was having a hard time identify who was Verchiel until someone called her name. I was puzzled, but that is ok. Overally, I like the book version better.
But hey, I still enjoy watching it very much. I love the dog, Gabriel, who can talk! I think it is really cool. I wish I could do that. I have a dog. Sometimes it is hard to understand what my dog tries to communicate with me. Too bad, I am not a Nephilim. A Nephilim is a half-human and half-angel whose parents are an angel, specifically Grigori or the fallen angel and a human woman, and at the point becoming one when he or she turns the age of 18 and would go through the changes, ie: understanding all native languages, developing wings, healing wounds. To my amazing, that angels can speak and understand many native languages! It makes me wonder if angels could understand sign language as well ? Well, to be exactly, it said: angels can speak tongues of native languages. I suppose it does not apply to sign language, since it is not a tongue, you know what I mean…
Aaron the Nephilim, is believed to be the one who will build the bridge between the angels and heaven. The former Powers leader, Camael, has been searching for the One for thousand of years. He believed that he has found him, that is Aaron. Also, he thinks he is a Redeemer.
For those of you who do not understand the meaning of Powers, in the book, the Powers leaders were ordered to search all Nephilims and kill them under God’s order because Nephilims are blights to God. Their mission is to eradicate them all, so they can join with God. They are Angels as well.
Note: I am not sure if I told the story right, but I have heard of that story a few times. Please feel free to correct me. I don’t know much about them really. I will tell you what I know about them so far.
Here it goes… I am sure that you have heard the Great Battle in the Heaven? You know Lucifier Morningstar who was once God’s second-in-command and highest archangel in the Heaven? However, he got greedy. He took the pride to rebel against God. Of course, God was upset. I believed that Lucifier was one who started the battle. They lost, and God got them out of Heaven. They could not touch Earth. They could not touch Heaven. I am not sure where they went. Lucifier became the fallen angel. For thousand of years, fallen angels have been wandering around, and believed to be mated with human woman and have babies, called Nephilim.
Anyway, The Fallen movie series will resume next summer with 6-hour movie. I am looking forward to it. I know it is a long way to go… but we can read the books before we can watch the rest of the movie!

I just hope they get Lucifer right in this series. That ending worries me. If Verchiel is not around then is that whole thing with Lucifer and the unleashing of Hell also going to be cut out? Are they still going to make it known that he’s Aaron’s dad? I feel like that’s a huge part of the story so they better not leave it out.

Silver Spider,
Sorry it takes me a while. I thought I did reply to your comment. I doubt that Lucifier will be in either the movie or the book. I only tell you what the history based on the bible. But someone did mention his name, explaining to Aron what happened. But we will never know if we will have Lucifier in the movie. I will find out soon if he ever appears in the book.
And so far, I know that Aron’s dad is dead. But anything can be a surprise. He may be alive. It will be interesting to watch Aron and his dad joined again. I hope they did not leave Aron’s dad out, too. I agree it is a huge part of the story!

Oh sorry I think you missunderstood. I already read the books and I’m saying that I hope the movie gets the Lucifer thing right (ie that he IS Aaron’s father the way he was in the books) but yeah I’m not sure if they will.

Thanks for the info, I’m checking the books out of the library this week so I can get up to date on the original story this is based on. Have you watched Hex? It was a great show put out a couple years ago in the UK. Same sort of theme, but different story line. A bit darker. Some reviewers called it Buffy grown up but no Vamps or Shape shifters. It was fantastic. Thanks again for your blog!
